HOKKAIDO FINDS BOX

Selected from the place we call home.

Five objects selected from Hokkaido, the northern island we call home.

This box brings together regional craft, local materials, textiles and small objects connected to Hokkaido — not simply because they look “Hokkaido-like,” but because of where they are made, the traditions behind them, the materials they use, or the people who make them.

This is not a souvenir box. It is our own view of Hokkaido, selected one piece at a time after your order.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Every Hokkaido Finds Box is selected from the same five categories:

1. Hokkaido Woodcraft
A small piece of woodcraft made in Hokkaido or connected to the island's long relationship with wood and carving. We look for pieces with character — from individual makers, workshops and regional craft traditions.

Example shown: a small hand-carved wooden owl.

2. Ainu-Inspired or Hokkaido Textile
A tenugui or other small textile connected to Hokkaido. This category may include pieces featuring Ainu-inspired patterns or works selected for their regional design, dyeing, weaving or maker.

Example shown: an indigo tenugui featuring an Ainu-inspired pattern.

3. Hokkaido Natural-Material Craft
A useful or decorative object made from materials associated with Hokkaido and northern Japanese craft — such as wood, bamboo or other natural materials.

Example shown: a handwoven natural-material coaster.

4. Sapporo Soft Stone or Regional Material Object
A small object made from a material closely connected to a particular place in Hokkaido. One material we especially like is Sapporo soft stone (Sapporo Nanseki), a volcanic stone historically quarried around Sapporo and used in local architecture and craft.

Example shown: a small house-shaped aroma stone made in the style of Sapporo soft-stone craft.

5. A Small Hokkaido Lifestyle or Maker's Object
One additional object from a Hokkaido maker or workshop, chosen to reflect everyday life, regional character or a small local story we think is worth sharing.

This category changes more freely than the others and gives us room to include something particularly interesting that we discover at the time of your order.

Example shown: a lavender-scented sachet inspired by Hokkaido's well-known lavender-growing regions.

SELECTED AFTER YOUR ORDER

The five categories above remain consistent, so you know what kind of Hokkaido experience you are choosing.

The individual products are not fixed.

After receiving your order, we select the pieces according to the season, availability, makers and what we can find across Hokkaido at that time. A woodcraft piece may come from one maker this month and another workshop the next. The textile, regional material and small maker's object may change as new pieces and seasonal finds become available.

The photographs therefore show examples of what each category may look like, rather than the exact contents you will receive.

If you have a preference within any of these five categories, please leave a note with your order.
You might prefer a particular type of woodcraft, a certain color or style of textile, or something connected to a specific part of Hokkaido. We cannot guarantee a particular product or maker, but we will keep your request in mind while selecting your box.

FIVE OBJECTS. ONE VIEW OF HOKKAIDO.

Not the Hokkaido made for souvenir shelves, but the Hokkaido we know — its materials, makers, traditions and small everyday objects.

Selected here, one piece at a time, and sent from our home to yours.
