Five objects selected to capture autumn as we are experiencing it here in Japan.

The Seasonal Japan Box changes with the year. Rather than filling a box with obvious seasonal souvenirs, we look for objects whose materials, colors, craftsmanship and everyday uses feel connected to this particular moment in Japan.

For Autumn Edition — 2026, every box is curated from the same five categories below.

WHAT'S INSIDE — AUTUMN 2026

1. Autumn-Toned Japanese Ceramic Cup
A handcrafted yunomi or similar ceramic drinking vessel selected for its autumnal material character — earthy clay, deep glaze, subdued colors or the natural effects of firing.

The piece does not need to depict autumn. Instead, we look for ceramics that simply feel right for the season.

Example shown: an earthy, dark-glazed artisan yunomi.

2. Japanese Woodcraft Inspired by the Season
A small piece of Japanese woodwork selected for its connection to autumn through form, material or motif.

Depending on what we find, this may be a hand-carved coaster, small plate, tray or decorative object made by a Japanese woodworker.

Example shown: a hand-carved wooden maple-leaf dish.

3. Autumn Japanese Paper & Stationery
A piece of Japanese paper or stationery reflecting the quieter imagery of autumn.

We look beyond the obvious maple leaf to the plants and landscapes associated with the Japanese season — susuki grass, hagi, kikyo, cosmos, gentian and other subtle signs of autumn.

4. Autumn-Dyed Japanese Textile
A small textile selected through color, dyeing or material rather than simply a printed seasonal motif.

This may include kakishibu-inspired tones, botanical dyeing, muted indigo, chestnut brown, rust or another textile whose color reflects the changing season.

5. Seasonal Japanese Craft
One small craft object selected especially for that year's Autumn Edition.

This is the most exploratory category in the box. It may be bamboo craft, woodwork, ceramics, weaving or another small piece we discover from a Japanese maker or region during the season.

CURATED FOR AUTUMN 2026

These five categories are fixed for the Autumn Edition — 2026, but the individual products within them are selected after your order.

That means you can choose this box knowing you will receive:

one ceramic piece + one woodcraft + one paper piece + one textile + one seasonal craft.

The exact maker, region, color, pattern, material and form may differ from the photographs.

We select according to what is available and, more importantly, what feels worth sharing from Japan during this particular autumn.

The photographs show examples only, not a fixed product set.

If you have a preference within any of the five Autumn 2026 categories, please leave a note with your order.
You might prefer darker or lighter colors, a particular type of ceramic glaze, certain autumn plants or motifs, or more traditional or contemporary designs. We cannot guarantee a specific product or maker, but we will keep your preferences in mind while curating your box.

When autumn passes, this edition ends.

A future winter, spring or summer edition will bring its own categories, materials, makers and objects — selected according to what that season feels like here in Japan.
